It certainly was all worth it! I still love the beach and spending time together with you and your family, building sand castles, and walking in the evening light with the sea breeze blowing gently in my face! I love our memories and look forward to making some more together with you!

Laura, You have always been an inspiration and that's true now more than ever. Your talents and attitude is perfect for raising awareness and I'm proud of you for taking this step.

You must let us know when the Observer series begins. Those reporters there better do right by you. -- Susan

Laura,

I would love to speak with you. My husband has been diagnosed with AD. He is 41 yrs old. We are dealing with hereditary AD. His father and grandmother also were diagnosed with AD and died at the ages of 45 and 51 respectively. I am having a very difficult time with doctors willing to listen to our situation and offer any type of treatment to slow the progression of the disease. Any help or guidance you can offer/provide would be greatly appreciated. After reading your blog, it looks as if you might be able to lead us down a better road.

Sincerely,

Cindi

Jeep, it is SO GREAT to hear from you! Please fill me in on everything that's going on with you all.

I am doing well - and, in fact, after the WFAE show, the Charlotte Observer assigned a reporter to do a whole series on Alzheimers (with me as the 'poster child' for early-onset Alzheimers.) I am thrilled to be able to help grow awareness of this illness and, hopefully, funding!

KEEP IN TOUCH!. If you'd like me to let you know when I have a new blog, I'll be glad to put you on my 'Life List.'

Just let me know!

Love,

Laura

"If you're going through hell, keep going." --Winston Churchill

and

"Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right." -- Henry Ford.

Wish I could have heard you and Greg on the radio, Laura. Maybe next time you can get the word out in advance. Even distant stations often stream online.

Keep up the good work!

I heard your radio interview, Laura, and it was amazing. They couldn't have found a more articulate and moving spokesperson than you. And in combination with the other ladies on the program, I think the broadcast did a wonderful job of addressing Alzeimer's from such a wide range of perspectives. As your friend, I'm so proud of how you're giving of yourself to help others. Very typical of you, but still admirable.

Coincidentally, even before I read your new post, I made a donation to the Alzeimer's foundation today, and asked my friends on Facebook to do the same. As soon as my wristband comes, I will wear it proudly in your honor, not only in November but always.

Here's one of my favorites: "It's never too late to have a happy childhood."

Laura, you were WONDERFUL on the radio show--warm, humorous, and insightful. The special relationship you and Greg have also came through--what a gift you gave to others struggling with any of the many challenges life throws our way.

I've really been enjoying your blog too! Keep it up, girl!
